Extremely rare in Australia, Schönburger is a beautifully aromatic variety from northern Europe. A crossing of Pinot Noir and Chasselas Rosé x Muscat Hamburg, its Pinot mother makes it highly suitable to Tasmania’s cool conditions.
This wine has a complex nose of fresh melon, rose petal, lychee and honeysuckle. The palate is luscious and persistent, with melon, guava, white stone fruit and brown pear flavours and a refreshing, clean finish. While ideal with sushi, shellfish or Asian style cuisine, this rare German variety has the ability to complement an unusually wide range of foods.
