Fred’s Update on the Season after October's rain

Our vines are well awake after a very even bud break – the result of excellent early spring rains across all our blocks. In fact, we are still getting regular rains – making it one of the coolest and wettest starts to the season that I can remember! The vines are handling these conditions extremely well, and once this current pattern eases and temperatures rise, I expect they will grow at a great rate. It’s a little early yet to forecast yields and a start date for vintage, but judging by the number of potential bunches it should be a strong – although perhaps slightly late 2022 vintage.
